This country had it almost right from the beginning: a group of Maori chiefs decided on a flag design. Their design still contained symbols of England Christianity though. Eventually, however, the country officially adopted the current flag (in 1902) which clearly contains the flag of ANOTHER country. New Zealand, in 2016, voted to keep their flag as is (57% to 43%)…. siiiiigh. It’s time to rip out this symbol of brutal colonization.
